The cable described by this standard consists of either two or
three conductors of stranded, annealed, and tinned copper wire,
insulated with synthetic or natural rubber, covered with a cotton
wrap and a shield, and protected with an outer sheath of
neoprene.
Application:
This cable will be used primarily as a microphone cable in radio
broadcasting service. A high degree of flexibility, resistance to
breakage of conductors or shield by bending at connectors, and
substantial resistance to wear of outer sheath, are important
requirements.
