Scope:

This International Standard specifies the requirements for an electrical insulating material containing mica paper with polyester film and with an epoxy resin binder for single conductor taping. The material is supplied in a flexible state with the resin in the B-stage for final cure after application. It is supplied in roll form. This specification refers only to single film, although compositions with polyester film facings of various thicknesses are available. The specification covers material having a nominal thickness from 0,07 mm to 0,12 mm.

Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
