Scope:
This standard describes a system for identification of the date of manufacture of an electronic component or equipment through the manufacturer′s marking the product with a series of numbers known as the EIA date code. EIA additionally provides a scheme for standardization of the calendar year and week in a date code. If the date code is desired by the customer it must specified in the contractual agreements (purchase order or ordering specification).
