Scope:
Router Network Layer Overview
The CEBus-EIB Router Network Layer is conceptually divided into
several elements, each performing distinct, well-defined
services. Each element may be thought of as an independent process
that communicates with the other elements and protocol layers
through specified interfaces. Figure 1-1 illustrates these elements
and associated communications interfaces. This document defines the
inter-element interfaces and the operation of each element. Another
part of this standard, Part 1: Description of the CEBUS-EIB
Router, provides an overview of router operation, and should
be read first.
