Scope:
This specification provides the engineering and performance
requirements for a family of high density blade-and-tuning fork
contact printed wiring board (PWB) connectors of assessed quality
designed for use in electronic and electrical equipment. It shall
be used in conjunction with the basic specification EIA-3 64
Electrical Connector Test Procedures, which documents test
procedures and test sequences.
These connectors are not intended for applications at
frequencies exceeding 3 MHz, except in applications such as high
speed digital logic. The special requirements and tests for these
high speed applications and other required test procedures not
provided in EIA-364 are specified in 4 of this specification.
Both the male (module) connectors and the mating female
(backplane) connector are included in this specification.
