Scope:
This test is intended to verify that filling and flooding compounds
will not flow from a filled
fiber optic cable at stated temperatures.(Footnote 1)
NOTE: Filling and flooding compounds minimize water penetration and
assist in isolating fibers from
outside environmental concerns.
Footnote 1 - For a similar test for other than fiber optic filled
telecommunications cable, refer
to the compound Flow test of ASTM D 4565.
