Scope:
This Trial Use or Interh Standard (the Standard or document) has
been produced by the Composite CDMAíI'DMA/FDMA Technical Ad Hoc
Group (TAG) of the Joint Technical Committee on Wireless Access
(JTC). This Trial U s h t e r h Standard describes the system
design which was pioneered by the Omnipoint Corporation for use in
the United States Personal Communications Services (Paf)re quency
bands. This standard covers the system implementation and operation
in the 1850 to 1990 MHz licensed frequency bands, within the Public
Switched Telecommunications Network (PSTN).
This document includes both introductory matenal suitable for
informational purposes and technical specifications which are
suitable for use as a Trial Use or Interim standard.
Reference is made in this standard to various other national and
international standards as summarized in the appendix.
This document is divided into the following six sections:
There are six appendices:
- Appendix A contains the Privacy and
Authentication algorithms used in the system.
- Appendix B provides an overview of the PCS
services, features, and functions used in the system.
- Appendix C details the message flows for the
system access to DCS-1900 based networks.
- Appendix D details the message flows for the
system access to Belicore Generic C based networks..
- Appendix E provides a description of ISDN
4.931 - based generic call control procedures.
- Appendix "F" documents the references used in
this document.
