Scope:
This standard shall cover definitions of terms that are
generally referred to between manufacturers and users and shall
define accepted nomenclature for commonly applied component and
operating descriptions as related to automatic record changers and
manual phonographs.
It is intended that this standard shall prevent or minimize
misunderstandings of descriptions of components and titles for
functional directions of record changers and manual
phonographs.
The descriptions of components, devices and titles refer
primarily to record changers and manual phonographs. The
descriptions listed do not necessarily include every name generally
affixed to such items, nor do the items under consideration in this
standard constitute every phase that may be advisable to be
included in the standard.
