INCITS Approves New SCSI Primary Commands Standard
December 12, 2005
The InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) approved a new Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) primary commands standard as an American National Standard. INCITS 408-2005 - Information Technology - SCSI Primary Commands - 3, was developed by the INCITS SCSI Storage Interfaces Technical Committee (INCITS T10) and defines the model for all SCSI devices.
The SCSI command set provides efficient peer-to-peer operation of SCSI devices (e.g., disks, tapes, printers) by an operating system and assumes an underlying command-response protocol.
