Green Hills INTEGRITY Receives POSIX Certification
May 9, 2006
Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY Workstation operating system was certified by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for IEEE 1003.1 - Standard for Information Technology - Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX).
INTEGRITY Workstation and the INTEGRITY real-time operating system (RTOS) are the first operating systems to be certified under the POSIX standard, according to the company.
INTEGRITY was certified as part of integrated modular avionics (IMA) systems by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to the DO-178B Level A.
INTEGRITY began common criteria security evaluation at Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 6+.
POSIX-compliant applications can be developed or ported to INTEGRITY. In addition, the workstation incorporates Padded Cell technology, which enables multiple legacy operating systems and applications including Windows XP, Linux and UNIX to be run in secure partitions on the same computer.
The workstation runs on commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) PC-compatible platforms.
