The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) on behalf of the American National Standard Lighting Group (ANSLG) published NEMA ANSI_ANSLG C81.63-2006 - American National Standard - Gauges for Electric Lamp Bases and Lampholders.

This standard sets forth the specifications for gauges for bases and lampholders for electric lamps. It updates and replaces NEMA ANSI_IEC C81.63-2005.

The 2006 edition of NEMA ANSI_ANSLG C81.63 includes:

Because this standard is under continuous accreditation maintenance, the following are the changes of record in the 2006 NEMA ANSI_ANSLG C81.63:

  • SX4s/4 Flanged CAPS: ANSI standard sheet 1-850-1 is superseded with IEC standard sheet 7004-97-2 - Submidget flanged base for subminiature lamps.
  • PGJ19 CAPS for the H8B, H9B and H11B Lamps: Adopted IEC standard sheet 7004-146-1.
  • W(X)(Y)3x16q BASE: IEC standard sheet 7004-106-3 supersedes IEC standard sheet 7004-106-2 - Red Double Filament Lamps Base.
  • GX8.5 BASE: U.S. adopted IEC standard sheet 7004-143-1.
  • GX10 BASE: U.S. adopted IEC standard sheet 7004-144-1.
