The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) published TIA 946-A - Enhanced Cryptographic Algorithms.
TIA 946-A details enhanced cryptographic algorithms, providing procedures to enhance the security of mutual authentication between mobile stations and base stations, subscriber message encryption and key agreement within wireless equipment over code division multiple access third generation networks.
As subscribers rely on wireless communication for services such as banking and other sensitive multimedia applications, network operators must protect the security and confidentiality of voice and data communications over wireless channels, said TIA.
TIA 946-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA Engineering Committee TR-45, Mobile and Personal Communications Systems.
