On July 7, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS).

The agreement marks the beginning of bilateral standardization cooperation between Europe and the Republic of Korea, aiming at deepening mutual understanding and creating opportunities to meet and exchange information.

The agreement also reiterates the commitment of the respective organizations to the principles of international standardization and close cooperation with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Among other things, the agreement should foster regular exchange of information, plus the possibility of arranging joint workshops, seminars or study trips.
