Anixter's, Inc.

Challenge
Anixter, the world's leading distributor of data communication products and electrical wire and cable, had an issue with retrieving and printing customer invoices. Credit administrators were spending too much time producing copies and not enough time focusing on customer interaction. Given the fact that Anixter issues over 8,000 invoices every day, this was becoming a major problem.

Solution IHS Enterprise Solutions was called on to convert Anixter's mainframe print spool files to a CD-ROM every month that could quickly be searched to find, edit and print invoices. In order to compensate for the lag time between CD production, a special Web site was created to allow increased access to invoice information on a timely basis.

Value Created The initial move to CD allowed credit administrators to double their collection responsibility and revenue, saving the company money and increase customer service.
