Facts on File News Service

Challenge
Facts On File, a New York-based provider of reference information for professional researchers and the education field, has established itself as a premier publisher of fact-based information. The company was confronted with the fact that libraries were purchasing fewer of the companies' print and CD products. Facts On File made the decision that it must move its information services online, but they did not have the resources to do the Web development and host the site themselves.

Solution
Facts On File retained IHS Enterprise Solutions as their development partner to design and host a site for them. Given the fact that the information was already available on CD and they were using HTML, the process of converting the data to the Internet would not be as difficult. The company currently has five of its products on the Web, including World News Digest, all of which are hosted by IHS at their state-of-the-art hosting center.

Value Created
The company now derives over 50% of its revenue online.
